Fire

The “Fire” suite is a cover of a tune by The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. The original titles are: “Prelude – Nightmare”, “Fanfare – Fire Poem” and “Fire”.

“Fire” was released by The Third Eye as a single in September 1968, produced by Billy Forrest. The opening spoken words were changed to “I am the son of hellfire” rather than “god…”, possibly to appease the censors. It peaked at number 16 on the LM Radio charts.

When the track was re-recorded and expanded to be part of the “Fire” suite on the “Brother” album, the original proclamation was restored. Hear it at 4:55.
