Single releases
Version #1 (recorded during the Ziggy Stardust sessions) was released on initial pressings of a single in September 1972, however version #2 (also known as the “sax” version, recorded during the Aladdin Sane sessions) was inadvertently released on the April 1973 pressings of the single.
Version #1 was also released as the UK b-side of the 1979 single release John, I’m Only Dancing (Again) (1975) which was recorded during the Young Americans sessions.
Album releases
Version #1 is available as a bonus track on the 1990 CD release of Ziggy Stardust and is also available on ChangesBowie (CD 1990) and The Singles Collection (1993, titled The Singles 1969-1993 in the US).
Version #2 was released on initial pressings of ChangesOneBowie, but was later replaced by version #1.
Version #2 was also released on The Best Of Bowie (LP), Sound + Vision (3CD box set) and The Best of David Bowie 1969 / 1974 CD.
John, I’m Only Dancing (Again) (1975) (7″ single version) released on Bowie Rare (LP).
John, I’m Only Dancing (Again) (1975) (12″ single version) released as a bonus track on the CD release of Young Americans and also released on ChangesTwoBowie (LP).
