These 11 songs (demos) were recorded on an 8-TRACK Fostex for Dave Rat and Ozzie Irish to then overdub themselves on, as a blues project. Sadly, Ozzie died of cancer after recording his guitar on only one track (“East Rand Man”) – a song in memory of another Springs muso, Dave Leadbetter.

So, the plan is to finish “East Rand Man” completely in Cape Town with Dave Langemann; with Riaan Esterhuizen on drums, Dave Rat on vocals, Gil Gilchrist on guitar and Jonathan Handley on bass – making it a complete Radio Rats wreckording. Then, with Lee Edwards on bass, we hope to record 9 other straight songs (like “Against The Law” etc) in three merry days. Some of the 9 songs will come from Pentatonic Canticles…three chords will do.

RIP Ozzie.
