David’s Confession – About Time

A bit early for a posting for my show this coming Friday night (25th of Jan), but just wanted to let you know that I will be featuring almost the entire DAVID’S CONFESSION – ABOUT TIME album as my weekly special feature (between 9 and 10pm). I have the narrative from the live show and will be reading that as the music is being played. In my humble opinion, this album, which is the brainchild of the ridiculously talented MEL BOTES, and which features singer / drummer GHAPI and his brothers CONRAD and ANDRIES, collectively known as GEORGIA, is undoubtedly one of the finest conceptual progressive rock albums to ever be released in South Africa. The album, which was released in 1999 and which has been out of print for some time, is a work of art, from beginning to end. Mel and Ghapi have performed the entire show on a number of occasions in the past, complete with full band, choir, etc, and it’s hoped that they will be doing so again, possibly with an orchestra. It’s an album / show that must not be allowed to be forgotten. It’s a true milestone in the history of rock in South Africa, and I invite you to share this experience with me, on The RockIt Scientist, on Mix93.8fm!
